Thwarted in Golf

I told myself that I wasn't going to write on here during the week, but I am just frustrated. Our office had planned to go golfing on Tuesday to celebrate the most recent tax deadline. I was particularly excited because I was going to try out my new spiffy golf clubs. Unfortunately, it was cold and rainy for a majority of the day, so we ended up canceling the trip. I was bummed. I tried everything to convince my coworkers that we should still go. I even used the Bart and Lisa Simpson technique of "Can we go golfing today?" repeated over and over incessantly (and very annoyingly) to try to get everyone to concede. ...but to no avail (except that they were so annoyed that they wanted to physically abuse me... in the ear).

Later on in the day after I had resigned myself to working, one of our work associates came into the office and mentioned to me that we should go golfing on Friday (today!). Hope had once again crept into my life, and I was able to look forward to a few good hours of golfing on Friday. Well, today... I am sad to report that a client (who was coming to town today) called (with a tee time already set up) and invited my coworker to golf... thus creating a five-some. Someone had to get kicked out of the group, and since I am a girl (and knowing that the client is one of those people who thinks that girls shouldn't golf), I was the fifth wheel. Dang it! One of my coworkers offered to stay behind, but I know that it is better if I am the one left behind. We have tentatively planned a golf afternoon next week, but I am skeptical about whether the afternoon will actually transpire. I have other coworkers I can possibly go with next week who are out of town today or have other obligations, but they're they ones who are harder to charmingly manipulate into golfing. Ah well, I guess I can't have it all.

By the way, I think the photo I put on there is bogus. What kind of shot was this guy trying to make on the green with a putter and sending the golf ball airborne toward a camera? I mean, really?

I can't say I see the appeal of golfing. Maybe it's because I'm really bad at it. I've never actually been able to get the ball to go up in the air. My aim is pretty rotten, too. Hmmm. Maybe that's why I'm not into golf. My dad says it's relaxing. I'll have to take his word for it! :)

Still, no golfing...

Did the blog people remove Cash's comment? That is funny. She's more offensive than I thought! (or revealing a little too much info?)

I used to hewlp my dad find golf balls in the summers when I was younger. The clubhouse paid 20 cents each if they weren't range balls. It was kind of like treasure hunting which is probably why my dad did it.
They stopped accepting them from him, because he'd find like 400 every week.
Anyway, thats my entire experience with golf. But considering my luck with every other sport involving balls, I would predict that I am very bad at it.

Yeah, I'm trying to keep this blog pretty anonymous and not reveal too much personal info about myself. Since she put my name, I deleted it.
