Frogurt: That's Good!

I go out to eat for "Chinese food" somewhat often. I love to get the fortune cookies. Sometimes you get fortunes, sometimes you get proverbs, and sometimes you get nonsense. Today's fortune happened to be:

A chance meeting with a stranger may soon change your life.

My lucky numbers were: 7 20 22 42 45 47

I keep hoping that I'll get the lucky numbers: 4 8 15 16 23 42

I usually get 1/6, sometimes 2/6, but I don't think I've done any better than that. Anyway, I've decided that the stranger, of whom it is spoken above, is named "Yoga." Even though I told them not to get one for me, my whole office got passes to a gym in town. Tonight I decided to try it out because my coworker was going to yoga, and I wasn't doing anything better. I have the first season of "24," but to tell you the truth, I would fire that Jack Bauer the first chance I got. He sucks.

I have learned many things from this experience (yoga, not watching "24"):

O I have no balance. The instructor kept having us stand on one leg. Nope, not me. At least not in the way that she wanted. I kept falling over, and I actually gave up during that portion. I seriously was bad at it.
O I am unflexible on the left side of my body. It's as if my left leg has been just chilling with my body and doing nothing. The left side is such a slacker. Slacker!
O Yoga is cool. You stretch and relax, and it counts as exercise! It's exercise's equivalent to sleeping in! Yesssss!
O There is something important about lengthening your spine. I'm not sure what that is, but it feels good.
O I like increasing my flexibility.
O When I imagined a nice vacation and relaxation, I imagined my bedroom with my bed and pillows. Somehow I
think that the instructor meant for us to imagine a beach, forest, mountain or something. We were supposed to draw in the smells of ocean breeze or trees or whatnot. I had to change my scene to that little island on my cruise to Belize where we played volleyball with the locals. And then when we were supposed to float up, I had to imagine myself in a plane because I was too scared of heights.
O It is good that I have the gym pass. I think I will yoga every week. (Is yoga a verb?)

Wow, I Watched TV!

Dear Jae Lee: See you in another life, brotha! ...and that's too bad because I sorta liked you. Well, until this episode, but you didn't have to die!

Dear Writers: What happened to the story?

Dear Self: What happened to my interest?

Dear ABC: It's after 2 a.m. PST, and the episode isn't up. You lie. I missed the first few seconds, and I want to watch it.

Dear Ben & Jerry's: I'm not buying. If you want me to want to purchase your product, claymation is NOT the way to go.

Dear T-Mobile: Hee hee. Hee hee hee.

Anticipating the LOST Premiere and Thus Exhibiting Nerdiness

Are you planning a LOST celebration for the premiere of Season 3? I have some dinner suggestions if you are.

First, make sure you are having a Dr. Marvin Candle-light dinner. You may want to have a vase of Evangeline Lilies as a table decoration.

Possible Beverages:
-Hanso-da Pop or Danielle Rousseau-da Pop, such as:
-DeGroot beer
-Jin-ger Ale
-Mr. Eko-ca Cola

or perhaps some Oceanic-Spray Juices

I don't drink, but if you do, you may later want to consider some sort of Jin or Cock-tailies.

For starters, I recommend the:
-Oceanic Scallops
-Lockes and Bagels
-Mr. Ekold Avocado Soup
-Hurley-fy greens with Ranch (lots of Ranch) or perhaps some Kelvinaigrette
-Michael (kale) braised in garlic and olive oil

For a main dish, may I suggest:
-Cornish Hen-ry Gale
-Jack Shephard's Pie
-T-Boone steak (Yes, that's Boone.)
-Charlie-broiled steak (be careful not to Burn-ard it) I admit, that one was just terrible.
-Pasta with either a Sun-dried tomato sauce or a Rose Alfredo sauce
-Evange-lean-cut pork with apples
-Mi-shell-fish Rodriguez with butter & lemon, including:
-Desmond Hume-ongous Coconut Shrimp dipped in a little bit of Artz, j/k, cocktailies sauce
-Lobster from the Atlantic O-Shannon Rutherford

Sometimes people want some veggies with their meal. You can serve:
-Libbeets with Asparagus
-Libbeans served with bacon
-Artz-ichokes
-Penelopeas and carrots

And lastly, for dessert, you may want to delight in:
-WidS'mores
-BanAna-Lucia Cream Pie
-Chocolate E-Claires
-Ice cream with Josh Hallowayfers
-Walt's Malt with Polar Bearies

Whatever you do, I hope you enjoy the start of season 3!

Ask Cardine: Part VI - Echoes

This “Ask Cardine” topic can be blamed on Sarah. I don’t know what to blog about, so I am resorting to the list she posted.

Echo, the sound: I suppose that the definition, according to m-w is: the repetition of a sound cause by reflection of sound waves. I, personally, am a fan of echoes. They remind me of the great outdoors. I think of standing, looking over a cliff, and yelling something ridiculous, just to hear my echo. The imagery is quite beautiful, really. Try it. Close your eyes and imagine your favorite outdoor location where you may be able to yell and hear an echo. That’s right. Ah… so refreshing. Now, yell something ridiculous at the top of your lungs! Do it! Ha ha ha! I bet if anyone heard you, they thought you were foolish.

Echo, the female: One time I met someone named Echo. She was a leader of some sort at my very first girls’ camp. I had moved to the town that very week (16 years ago, this week), and I didn’t know anybody. The camp could have been a lot worse than it was, considering that. I remember crying because I twisted my ankle. It’s true. My ankle had problems back then, too. Anyway, I don’t remember much about Echo, other than the fact that she was a leader. That is why I filled the rest of this paragraph up with useless information.

Eko, the male: Mr. Eko from LOST. He’s big. He’s a ‘priest.’ Okay, so he was actually a drug lord who impersonated a priest and sort of became a priest. He now carries a large stick with scripture on it. He is from Nigeria. He baptizes people and wants to build a church. The drugs that he was smuggling were hidden in Virgin Mary statues. It was heroin, which happens to be the drug of choice for Charlie, therefore creating a subplot for the show.

Sometimes Eko dreams about his dead brother who was the actual priest. His name is Yemi, which reminds me of "Yummy." If I were walking down a street and looked down a dark alley, and Eko were in it, I would be too afraid to go down that dark alley, especially with his clothes all ripped and torn like that, and especially if he had his big stick. However, if I were at war, and I thought he were on my side, I would totally want to hang out with him. He can do more with his stick than many people can do with guns. Yay, Mr. Eko.

I Know the Tests Don't Really Mean Anything

So, I took this quiz to see which LOST character I am. I am so excited by the results. I am:

Hurley

You scored 69% kindness, 28% courage, 21% seedy past, and 53% secretiveness!

"For the record, my belt HAS dropped a notch. I'm a big guy. It's gonna be a while before you're going to want to give me a piggy back ride."

Dude, you are Hurley. You are a kind soul with some terrible luck. While you're always lending a helping hand, you're not exactly the bravest guy on the island. What you do is even more important - keep people entertained. The only problem you've got is that whole jinxed numbers thing. You're so secretive, no one on the island even knows that you're a multimillionaire! Let it out, dude. There's no use trying to keep it all bottled up inside, man.

Your polar opposite is: Jin. You are similar to: Claire and Sun.

So, if you are a LOST watcher, please comment on why this is true or false, and also please let me know which LOST character you are. Thanks!
PS Sorry it's been a while. I will post again soon.
PPS I'm not a multimillionaire. Hurley is, though.

Questions Answered

This post is dealing with questions that I've had that I have had answered in the past week or so:

Q: Is there any way to prevent the occurrence of my opthalmic migranes?
A: Yes.

Q: What is it?
A: Prescription drugs, but they should only be used in extreme situations due to the side effects of the drug.

Q: Insert question here.
A: Five.

Q: If I order a bacon burger at a restaurant and ask that the hamburger be substituted with a veggie burger, will they still put the bacon on the burger if I don't specifically mention that I still want the bacon?
A: No, they will assume that I am a vegetarian, and apparently it is weird to want a veggie burger for any reason other than being a vegetarian. It is also weird to still want the bacon when you order the bacon burger as opposed to the regular hamburger. Also, if you specifically mention that you still want the bacon, the person taking the order will be confused for some time, and you will have to explain and reorder at least four times before they will understand that you want a bacon burger with a veggie patty, instead of a hamburger patty.

Q: Who would pay to go see Thunder Down Under or Chippendales?
A: My visiting teacher, and she wrote a Haiku about it.

Q: Will my ankle ever heal?
A: Doubtful.

Q: Are there some restaurants that are just too gross to ever go to again, even if you didn't eat breakfast, and it's the only restaurant for an hour?
A: Yes. Yes, yes, YES!

Q: Do the characters on LOST constantly change personalities from week to week?
A: Why, yes. I mean, no. I mean, yes. I mean, the island is evil. I mean, I love all people. No wait, I will punch another survivor because it is my turn this week to show how I am actually unstable for this one episode or else someone will punch me or beat me up and try to sabotage everyone's plans. Everyone's against me!

Q: What is the population of Dumpsville?
A: You.

Q: Should I be doing something else besides writing a post for my blog?
A: Indubitably.

Emotional Entertainment?

I think I'm developing some sort of emotional disorder dealing with entertainment. It seems that recently I've been more prone to emotional breakdowns in movies or from TV than I normally am. On Tuesday I went to "Batman Begins" in the dollar theater in town. It was my second time going to that movie, but I decided that I couldn't miss it since it could be the last time I can see a movie in that theater (They sold it and it's closing next week! BOO!). I actually cried at "Batman Begins." Unbelievable and embarrassing... but enjoyable and cathartic for me.

Then, I started watching the first season of "LOST." I've been borrowing the DVD's from my friend, D(M)T. For some reason, I am really getting into the show. I would say that I could be developing an addiction. I am only on the third DVD, but I can't wait to see what happens with Hurley and folks. I love Hurley. I have contemplated skipping work and all social functions just to keep updated on the "LOST" situation. This hasn't happened since.... well, I don't know the last time I really wanted to see a show that I would actually schedule the show's watching into my weekly schedule. I will probably start taping the episodes because I have a scuba class during the time that it normally plays on TV.

The final clue that leads me to believe that there's something up with my emotions is that I went to a chick flick last night ("Just Like Heaven"), and I REALLY liked the movie. It had all of the elements of a chick flick that I wouldn't normally like, but somehow, I thought it was fantastic. After it was over, I wanted to cry or something because it was so good. Granted, I had been having sort of a rough day and was already a little emotionally frazzled, but this was totally uncharacteristic of me. A friend even commented how shocked she was that I liked it that well because I usually don't get into the chick flicks as much as she does.

My entertainment emotional status is still on edge... and I have no idea why, but I am enjoying it. I hope it continues for a little while. I think that producers of movies would like me right now as a reviewer because I would probably think that even the dumbest movies are good in my current condition. I give "Batman Begins," "LOST," and "Just Like Heaven" A+'s all around.
