Relationship Month: Bonus Post - A Cookie Recipe

For people who don't like that this month is relationship month (I'm not mentioning any names), I have decided to post a cookie recipe, as mentioned by Julie. I got this recipe from a girl who said that this was the famous Nieman Marcus cookie. Oh, and I also made some changes, so it doesn't exactly match what she gave me, anyway. This is the small batch. I usually double it.

Cardine's Non-Nieman Marcus Cinnamon Oat Cookies (for FREE!)

Cream together:

1 c butter
2 eggs
1 c sugar
1 c brown sugar
Add 1/2 tsp vanilla

Mix dry ingredients together:

1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 - 2 tsp cinnamon
4 c floured oats (You know, like that Quaker oat dude oats.)

Add dry ingredients to wet mixture and mix! When it looks like it's blended pretty thoroughly, add some chocolate chips. I definitely prefer semi-sweet chips in this recipe, but people are pretty snooty about their chocolate chip preferences, so I know you'll do whatever you feel like doing, anyway. I'm telling you though:

Half a bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips. It's the way to go here.

Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, and bake them at 350 degrees for about 8 - 10 minutes or until your preferred goldenness. Enjoy!

I use a wheat grinder for the floured oats. You can probably use a blender, but the blender probably doesn't really flour it. If the blender doesn't do flour, then you probably have to do half of it regular flour. It's not as good that way, in my opinion, but you do what you can.

I think I was on a kick of making this cookie about ten years ago. I could eat the cookie dough for hours. Also, for the enjoyment of people who will not be mentioned, if you want to send me a cookie recipe ( cardinesblog atsign gmail dot com), I will post it here! So, then November can be cookie month, too!

These sound good. Plus they're whole grain if you use all oats! Maybe I'll supply you with a cookie recipe.

I want to be eating this cookie right now! I've never floured oats before, but hopefully I can figure it out. Yummy!

Thanks!

Ooooohhhh! That cookie recipe sounds yummy! Thanks for posting it! I wish I could contribute a cookie recipe, but I don't have any. That's why I'm tickled that you'll be posting cookie recipes AND talking about relationships! What a great month!

You're awesome, Cardine. That's a great way to cement a relationship - cookies!

I've never heard of flouring oats. Sounds like an interesting thing to do. The idea of cinnamon and chocolate chips together makes my mouth water. I'm not a cookie maker, but I'm going to try these.

I'll try to find my mother's snicker doodles recipe. She is a cookie maker.

I love how you specify it's a "non-neiman marcus recipe". Very good. I'll look through my cookie recipes to see which ones to send on over.
