Cate Blanchett
Cate just really doesn't bug me at all. It's like, my brain knows that she should bug me in "Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull," but I am not bugged. She can get away with the most annoying characters on the planet. She can even pull off Katharine Hepburn in "The Aviator" and be really good at it. Cate is good.

Dame Judi Dench
Yeah, so I think Judi is so versatile. One thing that's totally on her side is that she has years of experience. I can even watch some of her old stuff and be reminded that she was awesome then. She can be serious, fun, funny, mean, etc. Maybe acting comes easily for her? She can do everything. I actually feel the same way about Maggie Smith. Maggie should also be on this list.
Julianne Moore
The thing about Julianne is that she can be in really, really crappy movies (see The Lost World: Jurassic Park or Evolution) but play her part well. It's like, you practically have to forgive the sucktitude of the movie just because she still does a good job in it. One thing she has on her side for me, is that I haven't seen a ton of movies with her in them. So, maybe I haven't given her enough of a chance to annoy me.
Emma Thompson
Ah, Emma. You can get really quirky and ugly for roles and I know that you love it. You can play a mom, a Jane Austen character, a magical nanny, a divination professor, etc., and yet, you are still so, so cool. She totally earns her spot on this list because I've seen her in a lot of films and still like her. Yay for Emma!
Natalie Portman
Well, I haven't seen her in a ton of stuff, but you know if you can deliver horrible lines like "I truly, deeply love you" or have a baby in Wal-Mart and play characters that I would normally despise and still not have me totally hate you and scream a vile and piercing scream, you've gotta be at least a little okay. I think Natalie does a good job in her chosen roles. Her characters really aren't that great, and I haven't seen everything she's in, but I can stand her.
Laura Linney
Yippee for Laura! Again, I haven't seen a ton of movies that she's in, but I really enjoy her in the films. She hasn't ever bugged me, and I like that she delivers her lines in a direct and very real manner. She doesn't act like she's acting, and that is priceless. Give her a raise.
Zooey Deschanel
Zooey hasn't been in tons of stuff that I've seen, either, but she hasn't bugged me yet. I thought she was the redeeming point of "Elf," and she seems like she can play quirky and weird roles with ease. She doesn't seem like she would have to be type-cast; she could probably play serious, funny, adventurous, and mysterious roles.
AnnaSophia Robb
I figured that I should put a child actor on here because I am TOTALLY going to put a creepy one on my list of actresses that I can't stand. Again, I haven't seen her in tons of stuff or anything, but I really liked her in "Bridge to Terabitha." And since she had a pretty major role in that one and didn't bug me, she's on this list.
So, there you go. Do you agree/disagree? Who are some of your favorite actresses? Discuss.

I'm really impressed you found eight to add to the list. Way to go. How on earth will you limit your list for actresses you can't stand? Won't every other actress out there be on that list? And where's Renee Zellweger? I thought she was your favorite.
That bridge to terabithia girl looks so old in that picture! I saw her in that Winn Dixie movie, and she slightly annoyed me there, but not too bad. (maybe it was because Joseph brought it to the hospital for us to watch right after I had one of my kids, and I was way too tired to be watching a movie.)
I didn't realize Emma Thompson was that person...what I mean to say, is I recognize her from the other movies you mentioned, but didn't realize she was from Harry Potter. I like Dakota Fanning. Is she the creepy child actress? I like the girl that was in Nims Island and in that cooking movie with Katherine Zeta Jones too.
I think I agreed with most of your other assesments.
Oh wait, That Zooey girl? I just realized she was the girl from that made for tv movie, Tin Man. She was HORRIBLE in that. Seriously, her acting ruined the show.
I love Dame Judi Dench, too. She really is versatile and I love her in everything. I love how she speaks. I've also read that she's an amazing person in real life - down to earth, caring, very generous. I like that.
Not a Natalie Portman fan, but she doesn't ruin movies for me like some actresses do.
I also like Emma Thompson. My favorite role she performed was Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing.
I also really like Julie Andrews. Can't say she ever bugs me and I think she's classy.
You have my curiosity peaked for the dislike post. I also like Emma Thompson, and I agree with Julie that she and Kenneth Branagh are hilarious in Much Ado About Nothing.
Nice picks for non-buggy actresses!
Who's the lady that plays Mrs. Weasley? I love her too!
I agree with 88% of your picks. Which means I don't really haven't seen anything with the child actor so I have no opinion there, but everyone else I love. I don't really get annoyed with actresses very much so I'm not that picky but these are some of my very favorite actresses. I can't wait for your other list as well.
We are sooo on the same page. I would scrap Portman for Tilda Swinton. I haven't seen much of her either, but what I have seen (narnia), I love. I also Hurray! for Laura Linney! I might be willing to add Maggie Gellenhal (I think there is a J in there somewhere?)
cash - Just wait. Renee is coming soon.
tearese - That's so sad that Zooey was that bad in "Tin Man." I didn't see it.
julie/mellissa - Totally. Emma in "Much Ado About Nothing" is awesome.
dana - That would be Julie Walters.
cassie - I just hope I don't offend you with my other list. There are just so many people on it.
miranda - Yes, Maggie Gyllenhal should be on this list. I forgot about her. I also haven't seen her in much, but I think she's good.
I also thought of Minnie Driver. I typically like Minnie, except for maybe in "Good Will Hunting." She was the only good part of "The Phantom of the Opera."
One of the many things we are in agreement of. Rock on sister. I can't wait for your post of the ones you can't stand.
I hesitate to comment, because, well... I hardly know anyone.
I'm celebrilliterate.
Cate - don't know her/haven't seen her (if I have seen her, I didn't know I was seeing her... does that make sense?)
Judi - I like her because Julie likes her, and because you like her, too.
Julianne - know who she is, and I feel favorable feelings toward her. I think I really liked her in a movie once, but they're not the ones you mentioned.
Emma - Love, love, love.
Natalie - know who she is, feel slightly negative feelings toward her, but I haven't seen her in a lot of things.
Laura - is she in Truman Show? Because she was acting like she was acting in that show... if that's who she is. I like her.
Zooey - don't know her, can't remember her from Elf, except did she sing? If that was her voice, I like her.
AnnaSophia - see Cate's description. I don't think I've seen "Bridge..."; I've read the book lately, so I think the images in my head are from the book and not the movie.
