1. Brats - Seriously, brats are strong.
2. Sauerkraut - Strong. So very strong. And kinda stinky.
3. Andalouse - It's like this tomatoey spicy mustardy sauce stuff blend thing. It's strong; it's good.
4. Ambassadeur Fromage Cheese - The stinkiest cheese ever. It is so stinky that I seriously could not eat it. That is saying something. Generally I like cheese. I am a sucker for bleu, brie, gouda, meunster, feta, etc. But oh... this fromage was awful. I touched it, and it was like having stinky gym sock smell on your fingers that wouldn't come off after multiple washings. Gross.
Now, go eat some cheese. I know you'll love it.
Merry Christmas!
* We also had some non-stinky foods, like potatoes, grapes, apples, and bananas. And belgian chocolate.

Did you have chestnuts roasting on an open fire? (We won't -- I think we're having pizza.) But Jack Frost is definitely nipping at my nose.
Merry Christmas!
I do enjoy the story of The Stinky Cheese Man, but I'm glad I'm not smelling the stinky cheese you did. Belgian chocolate? So unfair!
I got some cheeses for Christmas from Noj. None are very stinky, though.
Your post makes me recall one of the first times I ate stinky cheese. I was visiting a relative's house. This is the relative that has a cat that I am the most allergic to of all cats. By the time dinner came around, I could barely breathe. I didn't realize how stinky the cheese was until afterward when Noj mentioned it. I just kept eating it, without any problem. Noj was flabbergasted. When he realized that I couldn't smell the cheese, he and I had a great laugh. Merry Christmas.
were you at a restaurant? A home? A hostel? A pub? I need more details.
cash - No. There were no chestnuts and no fire. Thank goodness. There is no fireplace here!
Mellissa - Me too. I have that book because I like it.
banana - I'm not sure I know which relative this is.
tearese - I was in Belgium at my parents' apartment. My dad cooked the meal. He is a fan of brats and sauerkraut. Tonight we had chili with non-stinky cheese.
